Peace of Mind for the IFR Pilot
The AltAlert 3070 provides an audio and visual LEVEL alert as you approach a preset altitude. If you do not level off or inadvertently deviate from the preset altitude, you will get a CLIMB or DIVE alert. This alert will occur with only a 150 foot deviation, before the ATC computer notices. The AltAlert reads your Mode C encoder and calculates you altitude MSL exactly as ATC does, using the same barometric pressure. Then If you have an autopilot with altitude hold, the 3070 reminds you when to manually engage the hold function. There is also an approach timer, fuel timer, clock, as well as a GEAR reminder that goes off 1,000 feet above your destination airport.

No Panel Too Crowded
The 3070 mounts in a standard 2 1/4 inch instrument cutout. Since it includes an accurate time-of-day clock run by an internal 10 year lithium battery, it can replace an existing clock. The bright four-character LED alphanumeric display, together with distinctive audio alerts, keeps you on top of changing inflight conditions. An approach timer and fuel usage timer are also provided.

Built-in Altitude Serializer for GPS Receivers
All IFR Approach Approved GPS receivers except the AlliedSignal units can accept altitude in a serial format for the RAIM accuracy calculations. The 3070 provides this altitude in a serial format for an easy connection to the receiver. In addition, this altitude data can be sent to the GPS in a barometrically corrected format so that you don't need to enter the current pressure into the GPS during an approach.
